It’s an exciting time for the Beaufort County School District. The pandemic and the necessary deviations from usual public school practices are behind us. With a boost from a $14.9 million grant, and under the dynamic leadership of 2025 South Carolina Superintendent of the Year, Dr. Frank Rodriguez, we are poised and uniquely positioned to extend an invigorated invitation to the families of Beaufort County to take a new look at BCSD.

Our six comprehensive educational program options include Career and Technical Education (CTE); Arts, Athletics, and Gifted & Talented; School Choice; Tides Dual Enrollment; Virtual Learning; and ChangeMakers, providing individualized educational pathways for every student from career readiness to college prep. And speaking of college prep, Hilton Head Island schools have the highest-performing International Baccalaureate program in South Carolina, where students go on to attend some of the top universities in the country. Hilton Head Island schools have also hired a family liaison to meet with families and provide information and personalized services that families may find at private schools. Finally, there’s a brand new and beautiful Hilton Head Island High School on the horizon tomorrow for families who enroll their children in lower and middle school today.
